Dr. Pamela Wible is a family physician in Eugene, Oregon and founder of Ideal Medical Care, a family practice medical clinic designed by patients and for patients. She has a passion for physician wellness, prevention of medical student/physician suicide, and changing the current culture of medicine/medical training to work better for both practicing physicians and patients.
She spreads her uplifting, humanizing, and transformative message of ideal medical care through various mediums: social media, podcasts, YouTube videos, webinars, live lectures, and physician retreats.
Her message is one of getting back to the human connection–and allowing physicians to have an integrative approach to being a physician and human. She also detests the term “physician burnout”, and often explains how it is a victim blaming term–a result of a broken and abusive medical systems problem–rather than a defect with the human in medical training/medical practice.
She also emphasizes the need to master not only technical aspects of medicine– but the human, as well as business skills of clinical medicine–to be a fulfilled practicing physician.
Dr. Wible also stresses the importance of having not just any mentors–but happy and fulfilled mentors–to be exemplary models for the next generation of physicians.
