Hey everyone, this is Taylor Brana, the founder of The Happy Doc! I wanted to do a little reflection piece this week, after finishing my first month of intern year in the Emergency department, and starting Internal Medicine. First off, while challenging, I’ve learned a lot through being an intern. I have quite enjoyed the challenge of the experience, and I’m getting lessons from this that will help me for a life time.
My goal for this episode is to reflect on some of the things I’ve learned from my time thus far, and sprinkling in some advice I’ve gotten from guests I’ve had, right here, on the podcast. I will be speaking from my current experiences (and hopefully not breaking HIPAA in the process).
Topics of the conversation:
# Doing the right thing
# Knowing the patient
# Sleep
# Comfortable shoes
# Keep moving (using opportunities)
# Med Students are awesome

# Serenity Prayer/Stoicism
# Be humble for the patient (if you don’t know ask)
